Project Title: DMO - Destination Management Organization for the Shouf Region

Donor: The US Agency for International Development (USAID).

Objectives:

• Developing and organizing the management of the touristic destination in Shouf by strengthening the authentic Shouf brand.

• Survey of tourism services in the Shouf villages.

• Building the capacity and quality of service providers.

• Developing tourism packages in the region and working on branding and marketing the touristic destination.

The activities:

• Preparing a strategy for services within the Shouf region.

• Preparing and developing the administrative structure and building the capacities of the work team and local guides, in addition to equipping the administrative center of the touristic destination in the Shouf, the DMO.

• A comprehensive survey of existing services in all villages and towns, analyzing the information and putting it on a detailed map.

• Studying the status of services and organizing a capacity-raising program and networking meetings between service providers.

• Developing the quality logo and working to grant a number of certificates to services that follow the standards of the quality logo.

• Developing touristic packages and working on testing some of them.

• Developing the touristic destination's logo and the branding guidelines.

• Establishing a call center for the destination and working on Internet marketing, E-Commerce.

• Developing a brochure for the destination and the service providers.

• Organizing introductory visits to the destination, Fam Tours.

• Establishment of five points for information and inquiries in the region.

• Launching the tourist destination for the Shouf region.
