The environmental awareness and marketing plan in the Shouf Biosphere Reserve aims to involve local communities and urge them to act in a responsible way towards the environment, by preventing pollution, and using resources in a sustainable manner.
For Students: the Shouf Biosphere Reserve has organized environmental educational campaigns and activities with the surrounding schools and associations to involve the younger generations and introduce them to good practices related to the protection and conservation of nature.
One of the most important activities was the "Green Passport" initiated in 2021, with until now, almost 3,000 students from the surrounding schools from 10 to 14. It has tackled subjects such as the importance of forests, sustainable agriculture, forest wealth, biodiversity, and wildlife.
It also organized an environmental camp for children aged between 4 and 15, with the support of specialists. The camp included several cultural, educational, environmental, sports and artistic activities
Local festivals
were originally established to provide a space for local farmers and producers to sell their products and showcase the rich cultural heritage that distinguishes the Shouf area. They have become a platform for raising awareness and highlighting all the traditional sustainable activities, whether agricultural or cultural.
